Christopher Collier Nichols, age 60 from Grimes IA, left this world on Saturday, December 11, 2021, to be with his Lord and Savior, surrounded by his loving family.
He is survived by his loving family, wife Linda Nichols, son Alex Nichols, daughter Katherine (Ryan) Roy and Grandson William Roy.
He was preceded in death by his father Bruce Nichols, mother Phyllis Christensen, stepfather Carroll Christensen and brother Eric Nichols.
He graduated from Roosevelt High School in 1979, after high school he joined the Army.
He and Linda were married on April 5th, 1985.
He was a courier for the University of Osteopathic Medicine then took time off after his daughter was born in 1992 to take care of her.
In this life he enjoyed playing and working on guitars. He shared this activity with his son who he also taught how to play. Whitewater canoe paddling, He shared this with both son and daughter. He taught them both how to paddle.
He also shared his love of the outdoors with camping, canoe trips and hiking with friends.
In his younger days he was a Scuba diver and enjoyed rappelling, shooting and reloading ammunition.
He was a good cook and enjoyed experimenting with new recipes. He kept his family very well fed.
There will be a celebration of life on Saturday January 8th at 10:30am. Calvary Chapel Des Moines 606 E 9th Street Des Moines, IA 50309. There will be a reception to follow
