Danny, 85, passed away on July 28, 2021. Visitation will be 6-8 p.m., Friday, at Merle Hay Funeral Home. A memorial service will be at 1 p.m., Saturday, at the funeral home.
Danny, the son of Leonard and Beatrice (Rohrberg) Murray, was born September 11, 1935 in Council Bluffs, Iowa. He was a graduate of East High School. Danny proudly served in the U.S. Army. He was united in marriage with Pat Mason on June 17, 1956. Danny graduated from Drake University with a bachelor’s degree, master’s degree, and specialist certification. He was a longtime teacher and vice principal at Lincoln High School, night school principal at Brody Middle School and Lincoln High School, announced many basketball and football games, and served as president of the BLH Club. Danny retired in 1996.
Danny had a great sense of humor and was quite a jokester. He enjoyed putting puzzles together and had a fondness for his cats: Sonny, Tigger, and Spice.
Danny was preceded in death by his parents, and his brother, Franklin.
Danny is lovingly remembered by his wife, Pat; children: Cathy Bell, Michael Murray, and Linda (Steven) Gonzalez; four grandchildren: Gabriel Gonzalez, Taylor Gonzalez, Madison Gonzalez, and Ashley (Michael) Kasperbauer; and three great-grandchildren: Penn, Howie, and Lola.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be given to Kindred Hospice and the Alzheimer's Association.
