DoraMae Ella Ullrich, 82, passed away on June 4, 2022. A visitation will be held at Our Saviour Lutheran Church in Des Moines, IA on Friday, June 10, 2022 from 4:00 to 7:00 PM. A service will be held at Our Saviour Lutheran Church on Saturday, June 11 at 10:00 AM.
DoraMae Coop was born on May 19, 1940, to George and Lela (Leibrock) Coop in Grinnell, IA. She graduated from Grinnell High School in 1958. DoraMae was secretary to the Admiral of the United States Navy in Washington D.C. for roughly ten years before returning to Iowa.
DoraMae’s hobbies included baking birthday and wedding cakes, reading mystery novels, her favorite being Gone with The Wind, being a southern lady in Civil War reenactments, playing the Duchess of Warwick in Living History reenactments, playing cards, completing crossword puzzles, and sewing dresses for weddings and the renaissance fair.
DoraMae is preceded in death by her parents; her sister, Marilyn Taylor; brother-in-law, Don Taylor; and nephew, Jeff Taylor.
DoraMae is survived by her husband, Ivan Ullrich; children, Georgia McCrea, William Doyle, and Pam (Chuck) Polke; grandchildren, Lynette, Brittney, Alexis, Mariah, Kaylee, and Presly; greatgrandchild, Hannah; and nieces, Vicki McGhghy and Valerie Taylor.
Memorial contributions for DoraMae Ullrich can be addressed to her family for later distribution.
