Dorothy Virginia (Brooks) Knight passed away peacefully on May 16, 2021 at the age of 92.
She was born to Eli and Finette (Waller) Brooks on December 26, 1928. She was one of 16 children born to Eli and Finn. She was raised on the eastside and graduated from East High School.
Dorothy married her best friend and love of her life, Bill; they were married 69 years before his death. They made their home on the eastside of Des Moines.
She worked at Woodford Manufacturing company for over 40 years before retiring.
She adored her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. She always had a smiling face.
Left to cherish her memory are her children, son Bill (Rikki) Knight and daughter, Kim (Dennis) Henrich. Left with sadness are her grandchildren, Chad Knight, Amy Hill (Steve Walters), Chris Knight (Kayla Moorman), Katy Knight, Alex Henrich, Annie Henrich and 5 beautiful great-grandchildren.
Dorothy was preceded in death by her loving husband, Bill Knight, parents, Eli and Finn and all her siblings.
Dorothy will be laid to rest at Chapel Hill Cemetery beside her husband with a private graveside service. In lieu of flowers family is requesting memorials be directed to Hospice of the Midwest. The family would like to thank Valley View Village and Hospice for all the wonderful care and compassion.
