Dorothy May Hanson, 90, passed away on Saturday, June 10, 2023, at the Carlisle Care Center. Dorothy was born on May 30, 1933, in Minneapolis, the daughter of Matt & Helen Siegler. She was united in marriage to Richard A. Hanson on January 11, 1958, and he preceded her in death on August 2, 2011. Dorothy was also preceded in death by five brothers & sisters. She is survived by six children, Ronald & Raymond Hanson, Rhonda (Gary) Busch, Diane, Ken & Mike Iacono, twelve grandchildren, twenty-two great grandchildren and her beloved dog, Sasha, who was her faithful companion in her last years. Dorothy will be remembered by her smile, laughter, sense of humor and immense love for her family. A celebration of life will be held on Saturday, July 22nd at 10:30 am at the Merle Hay Chapel, 4400 Merle Hay Rd in Des Moines.
