It is with profound sorrow that we announce the passing of Edith Zakpa Suah, who peacefully passed away, January 24, 2025, at MercyOne Hospital in Des Moines, Iowa. Born in Zwedru, Grand Gedeh County, Liberia, on January 25, 1970, Edith’s life was filled with love, joy, and an unyielding spirit that touched everyone she encountered.
Her infectious laughter, boundless energy, and warm heart left a mark on all who were blessed to know her. Edith’s greatest pride and joy came from her family. She was a devoted mother to her two daughters, Ambitious Aka Dee and Lovetee, and an adoring grandmother to her beloved grandchild, Praise Sunnday Suah. She is also survived by her siblings: Rebecca Suah, Comfort Suah, Gandee W. Suah, Linda Suah Roberts, Josephine SB Tweh, and Victor N. Suah. Edith treasured every moment spent with her family, and her love for them was immeasurable.
Edith is survived by her daughters, grandchild, and siblings. She was preceded in death by Victor D. Suah, Anita S. Suah, Alice V. Suah, and Nathaniel Suah.
Though Edith is no longer with us, her spirit and love will forever remain in the hearts of those who knew her. Her legacy of kindness, laughter, and devotion to family will continue to inspire us all.
A visitation will be held at Faith Covenant International Church (6000 Douglas Ave, Suite 140B, Des Moines, IA 50322) on March 28th from 6 PM to 8 PM. A funeral service will follow at Faith Covenant International Church on Saturday, March 29th, at 9 AM, with burial following at Chapel Hill Cemetery (4400 Merle Hay Road, Des Moines, IA 50310).
