Ellen Kay Shaw, born on December 13, 1969, went to be with the Lord on Thursday, September 30, 2021, at Pine Acres Rehabilitation Center, after a long battle with brain cancer.
Ellen worked at the Iowa Utilities Board before the tumor forced her to retire. Ellen was a good mother, and a good wife. She was thoughtful, a giver and was bold in her faith. She loved cats, the Beatles, her family, and God.
Ellen leaves behind her husband, Scott, and a daughter, Stephanie, whom they adopted from China in 2010. Ellen will be greatly missed.
Visitation will be on Tuesday, October 5, 2021, from 4:00 p.m. until 5:00 p.m. at Merle Hay Funeral Home, 4400 Merle Hay Road, Des Moines, Iowa 50310. Funeral Services will follow at 5:00 p.m. Memorials may be directed to the family.
