Frances Faas, 95, of Urbandale, IA passed away on Wednesday, August 11, 2021, at Taylor House Hospice, was surrounded and enveloped in love by her family.
Frances C. Roberg was born on July 14, 1926, in Castana, Iowa; the daughter of Oscar and Julia (Spencer) Roberg. She was blessed to have three older brothers: Curt, Bob, and Fred. In 1936 the Roberg’s moved to Ames, IA. Frances graduated from Ames High School with the class of 1943 and graduated Nursing School in Marshalltown, Iowa at the Deaconess Hospital School of Nursing, graduating in 1947. She had worked at Mary Greeley Hospital and then for the Veterans Hospital in Des Moines.
On February 8, 1949, Frances was united in marriage to Lee Faas in Ames, IA and to this union they were blessed with two children. She was a member of Saint James Lutheran Church in Johnston, IA and served on the Church Council.
Left to cherish her memory are her children; Vicki (Dan) Scherf of Memphis, TN, and Jay (Pamela) Faas of Jewell, IA, grandchildren; Ryan Cross and Kerry Scherf and six great-grandchildren.
In death Frances rejoins her parents; Oscar and Julia Roberg, husband; Lee Faas, and brothers; Curtis, Robert, and Fredric.
Funeral Services will be on Monday, August 16, 2021, at 11:00 a.m. at Saint James Lutheran Church, 5665 Merle Hay Road, Johnston, IA 50131. Visitation will start at 10:00 a.m. There will be a luncheon following the funeral.
