Gerald "Jerry" D. Marchant, Jr., 71 of Pleasant Hill, IA passed away on June 20, 2023, at Methodist Medical Center with his family by his side.
On Saturday, July 1st there will be a Celebration of Life at Merle Hay Chapel at 11:00 am. Visitation will be from 10 am until service time. Jerry will be formally escorted to Sunset Memorial Gardens following the funeral to be laid to rest.
Jerry was born November 22, 1951, in Des Moines, IA to Gerald Sr. and Edith Marchant. He grew up in Pleasant Hill, graduating from East High School in 1970, then he began his career at Pepsi Cola. He then spent many years working for Automotive Recycle Yards and ended his career in the parts department for the City of Des Moines.
Jerry married Phyllis Jones on May 31, 1991, and resided at his family home in Pleasant Hill. He loved his family, camping, riding motorcycles and his dogs.
Jerry was preceded in death by his parents: Gerald Sr. and Edith Marchant, his wife: Phyllis Marchant, and two grandchildren: Jesse Johnston and Natalie Baker.
Jerry is survived by his brother: Jack (Ellen) Marchant; his children: Mikalene Clark, Julie Bellville, Larry (Janeen) Marchant, Terry (Jessica) Niederklopfer, Bobby Baker (Kenna Byers), Kelly Porter (Dan Greenwalt), Holly Baker (Mark Brown), and Jerri Marchant; 13 Grandchildren, 15 Great Grandchildren and many extended family and friends.
