Hulen Richard “Dick” Ury 95, of Des Moines, Iowa, passed away on March 6, 2021 at Ramsey Home in Des Moines, Iowa.
Hulen Richard Ury was born on October 30, 1925, in Ridgeway Missouri; he was the son of Lloyd Charles and Beulah Dell (Stanley) Ury. He attended school in Des Moines and was a graduate post Navy discharge in 1946. On May 18, 1946 he was united in marriage to Shirley Ann Price. Upon her passing he then married Marlys Janet Moore in 1962. He had resided in Des Moines, Iowa his entire life and worked with Dial Finance which later became Wells Fargo.
He was a member of Park Avenue Christian Church where he had been an Elder. He was a past president for the Mid America Fantail Club. He was also Sergeant at Arms of the Bellizzi MacRae American Legion in Des Moines, Iowa.
In his spare time, Dick enjoyed breeding, showing, and judging show pigeons.
Left to cherish Dick’s memory are his children, Nancy Eve Parsley, Richard Curtis Ury and Janet Lynn Anderson, grandchildren, Timothy Lee Parsley, Rebecca Ann Thompson, Vance Theron Anderson and Dean Carl Anderson, great-grandchildren, Emma Grace Parsley, Aidan Lee Parsley, Finnan Lee Parsley, Evelyn Joy Parsley, Josh Alex Thompson, Diksha Joy Thompson.
In death Dick rejoins wives Shirley Ann Price Ury, Marlys Janet Moore Ury, sister Rebecca Ann Ury Merrill and son-in-law, Stephen Lee Parsley.
