Jim Beeler, 63, of Urbandale, Iowa passed away on August 7th, 2023. Jim was born on October 1, 1959, to Bob and Margaret Beeler in Des Moines, Iowa. He graduated from Urbandale High School in 1980. He loved the community of Urbandale and lived in the area his entire life. He took great pride in his 34 ½ year career as a custodian at Urbandale High School. It was his honor and privilege to help maintain the school building. Equally important to Jim was the joy he received serving the teachers and students of UHS. His compassionate ways gained him many friends.
He married his dear wife, Gigi, in 2006. Together they enjoyed their beloved dogs, fun times with family, Iowa Hawkeye football, Buccaneer hockey games and rock concerts.
Jim is survived by his son, Austin Lawrence of Grimes, Iowa; stepson Michael Steevens (Nic) of Saint Paul, MN; his sister, Cherie Rissman (Jon) of Urbandale; nephew, Robbie Rissman of Urbandale; niece Jessie Alex (Nic) of Waukee and his beloved cat, Shorty. Jim was preceded in death by his parents, Bob and Margaret Beeler and his wife, Gigi.
A Celebration of Life will be held at Merle Hay Chapel located at 4400 Merle Hay Road in Des Moines on August 27. The family will have a visitation at 2:00 pm with the Celebration of Life at 3:00 pm.
