John Craig Sharp, 71, passed away Thursday, July 7, 2022, at Omaha Nebraska Medical Center. John was born September 2, 1950, to Rex and Arlene (Atwood) Sharp in Des Moines, Iowa.
John graduated from Johnston High School in 1968. He attended Grandview University from 1968 to 1970. John was drafted into the US Army Security Agency in 1970 and served in Viet Nam.
John had a vast collection of baseball and football cards which he had collected for years.
John worked for Hotel Fort Des Moines Operation Downtown and the Graham Group, retiring in 2020.
John was preceded in death by his parents and an infant sister.
John is survived by his sister, Jan Needels; nephews, Robert and Dan (Miranda Davis) Needels; great-nephews, Danial and Charlie Needels; and great-niece, Emma Needels.
A Memorial Service will be held on Monday, July 18th, from 1-2:30 at Merle Hay Funeral Home.
