Kitty Marie Madison, 73, of Des Moines, IA left us Wednesday, October 11, 2023, following a long battle with her health at Methodist Hospital. She was surrounded by her children at the time of her passing.
Kitty, also known lovingly as Corky, was born January 5, 1950, in Des Moines, IA. She was the daughter of Mary Anna Williams and Raymond Wright. Kitty grew up on the southside along Scott Avenue. She was saved as a child and loved the Lord. Kitty was a faithful member of Amazing Grace Ministry.
She attended East and Tech High Schools, then joined the workforce. Most notably, logging more than 30 years combined at Northwestern Bell and US West. Following early retirement Kitty returned to school to earn her associate degree in electrical engineering from Hamilton College. Returning to work, she held positions at Prairie Meadows, Marsden Building Maintenance, and Ruan Transportation Management Systems.
Left to cherish her memory are her children Glennia Sellers, Justin Madison, Jason Madison; grandchildren Jordan Sellers, Gia Madison; former spouse Glen Sellers and numerous cousins.
Preceding Kitty in death are her grandparents, parents, aunts, uncles, and former spouse Jerry Madison.
Kitty’s going home celebration will be held at Merle Hay Funeral Home on October 21, 2023. A visitation will be held from 11 a.m. to noon. Kitty’s funeral services will begin right after the visitation at the same location.
