Leighton William Tyrrel was born October 31, 1945 in Burlington, Iowa to Donald and Louise (Bryson) Tyrrel. He graduated from Drake University and was a proud alumnus and fan. On May 9, 1975 Lee married Linda Curtis. He was strongly devoted to his family and enjoyed taking family trips. An avid sports fan, Lee cheered on the Cubs and Bears especially. He loved dogs, bowling, and spending time at the lake.
Lee passed away March 9, 2022. He is lovingly remembered by his wife, Linda; sons: Donald (Heather), John (Kelly), and Steve (Michelle); grandchildren: Jackson, Ava, Blake, Nile, Leighla, and William; nephew, Jeff Wrede; and niece, Theresa Hall. He was preceded in death by his parents, and his sister, Sandra Hall.
A memorial service will be held at Merle Hay Funeral Home on Friday, March 18, 2022 at 10:30 a.m. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be directed to The Parkinson’s Foundation or The American Cancer Society.
