Lori Pagitt, 64, of Des Moines, IA passed away at Methodist Hospital in Des Moines, IA, on March 15, 2022. Merle Hay Funeral Home is in charge of cremation arrangements.
Lori was born November 14, 1957 in Des Moines (Polk County), IA, to Robert and Lina (Euler) Pagitt. She grew up in the Des Moines area, attending St. John’s Lutheran Church and graduating from North High School in 1976. She was the youngest of six daughters born to Lina and Robert Pagitt. Siblings included, Marie Pagitt, Arline Pagitt, Carol Pagitt Cox, Robin Pagitt Steffen, and Debra Pagitt Gipple. Her career began with working for various agencies within the Federal Government beginning in the area of Crop Insurance. She later transitioned to customer service with FYI Answering Service to round out her career.
Lori was a woman of creativity; she excelled at crafts and used her talents to bless family members with her arts. She was a compassionate, loving, and caring person who was ready to help nieces and nephews in any way and with whatever resources she had. She was an avid reader and enjoyed a good pun.
Lori is survived by her sisters Arline Pagitt of Des Moines, IA, Carol (Alan) Cox of Des Moines, Robin Steffen of the Kansas City, MO area, and Debra (Marty) Gipple of Des Moines. She is also survived by ten nieces and nephews as well as thirteen great nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, eldest sister, Marie, and brother-in-law, Warren Steffen.
Lori’s favorite nightly sign off was, “I’m OK, are you OK?” Lori will be greatly missed as she was greatly loved by those who knew her.
