Lul "Jumbo" Dak/ Lul (Ruot) Puok Dak

Lul (Ruot) Puok Dak also known as JOMBO, was born on February 16, 1992, to his father Simon Puok Dak and mother Elizabeth Nyanhial Chuol in Gambella, Ethiopia (lolgungjang). Several years after his birth, his family migrated to the United States, and he grew up in Des Moines, Iowa.


As a child and throughout his teenage years, Ruot enjoyed playing basketball. Besides playing basketball he cherished spending time with the people he loved the most, especially his beautiful daughter Nyabuom, also known as Lalani. The light of his life.


Ruot was a source of light. His infectious laughter and smile brought warmth and happiness to everyone around him, and his kindness was unparalleled. He provided unwavering support to his family and friends during their happiest moments. The love and joy Ruot shared will forever remain in our hearts. He will be deeply missed.


Ruot is survived by his daughter Nyabuom, aka Lalani, his parents, 5 sisters, and 4 brothers. Through them, Ruot's legacy and name will endure while his beautiful soul rests in eternal peace with the Lord.
