Mark L. Davidson, 66, of Ankeny, Iowa passed away of natural causes in his bed on Wednesday, December 14, 2022. Due to inclement weather, the family of Mark Davidson has rescheduled his services. A memorial service will be held on Wednesday, December 28, 2022, at Merle Hay Funeral Home at 1:00 PM with visitation two hours prior. Inurnment will follow at Chapel Hill Gardens Cemetery.
He was born in Des Moines, Iowa to Marvin and Marlene (Jones) Davidson. Mark graduated from Adel High School. He enlisted in the Army and served as an air traffic control and field nurse. He helped start the Methodist Life Light communications program and received his Associates in Nursing from Des Moines Area Community College and went on to be a Registered Nurse primarily within the Methodist emergency room and volunteer Paramedic with Ankeny Fire Department. Mark enjoyed ISU athletics, primarily hockey and was a proud supporter of the Iowa Wild hockey team.
Survivors include his sister, Marla Miner; children, Jon (Meredith) Davidson, Ben Davidson; grandchildren, Forrest Davidson, Atlas Davidson; grand dog, River; former spouse, Maureen Davidson.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Puppy Jake Foundation (PO Box 12220, Des Moines, Iowa 50312) in Mark’s honor.
