With profound sadness, we announce the passing of Pat, our sister, to all whose lives she touched.
She was born March 7, 1956, in Polk County, the daughter of the late Bernard and Karmen Harmeyer. Pat was the oldest of eight children. Surviving brothers and sisters include Mary Knight, Christina Free, Bernie Harmeyer, Michael Harmeyer, Brenda Abbott, Margaret Giles, and James Harmeyer.
After her graduation from North High School in 1974, Pat completed her degree at Iowa State University. Pat was an energetic volunteer for many organizations including Hospice of Central Iowa. Prior to her death, Pat was an executive officer at Iowa Dot in Ankeny.
Survivors include her brothers and sisters, numerous nieces and nephews, and many family members and friends.
