Randall Lee Brooks, 63, entered his eternal life on Sunday, September 29, 2024, at home with his family from complications of cancer.
Randy was born December 11, 1960, in Des Moines, Iowa, and was a resident of West Des Moines and Des Moines. He was a graduate of Valley High School where he shined in many sports, basketball, baseball, and football. Randy was social, charismatic, and never met a stranger. He enjoyed helping the people he loved and all those around him.
Randy was a farmer in his early years, tending to his family’s farmland. Eventually, Randy opened and operated his own construction business (Brooks Construction) where he happily took on a variety of different projects.
Randy will be deeply missed by his children, daughter Ashlee (Rochelle) Brooks of Norwalk, son Ryan Brooks of Des Moines, son Cody McNamar of Des Moines, brother Robert (Kelly) Brooks of West Des Moines, grandchildren Nolan Brooks & Laney Brooks of Norwalk, many beloved nieces and nephews, recent spouse Crystal McNamar and other treasured family and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, Dixie Richardson and Robert Brooks Sr., and his brother, Scott.
Visitation will be from 6 to 8 pm Friday, October 4th, and a celebration of life will be held on Saturday October 5th at 10:30 am, both at the Merle Hay Chapel, 4400 Merle Hay Rd in Des Moines. Burial will follow at Jordan Cemetery in West Des Moines.
