Randall Karl Applegate, 68, passed away September 5, 2022, at home with family by his side. Visitation will be held on Thursday, September 8th from 10:00am-12pm at the Redfield American Legion Hall, followed by a Graveside Service at Harper Cemetery, north of Redfield.
Randy was born to Clifford and Alene (Butler) Applegate on January 4, 1954, in Maxwell, Iowa. He worked various jobs throughout his life, including construction, heating and cooling, and at Parker Games. He retired from Firestone after 30 years. He was a Volunteer Firefighter and EMT for Waukee and Clive. He had many hobbies including fishing and camping. He was an avid Iowa Hawkeyes fan, but a bigger fan of the Minions.
Randy was preceded in death by his parents, one brother, Robert Applegate and one sister, Barb Ridgway.
He is survived by his wife of 22 years, Gwen; 3 sons, Aaron (Amy) Applegate, Bobby (Cindy) Applegate and Dominic (Samantha) Hayden; one daughter, Michelle (Ronnie) Thomas; 2 brothers, Richard (Judy) Applegate and Scott Applegate; 2 sisters, Beverly Coryea and Beth (Bill) Thede; one sister-in-law, Janet Applegate; and 12 grandchildren, Brayden Applegate, Brylie Applegate, Brek Applegate, Isaiah Applegate, Lilly Applegate, Layla Applegate, Lydia Applegate, Zachary Hayden, Christopher Hayden, Launa Thomas, Logan Thomas and Lorelai Thomas.
