Robert Alan Peace, 83, known as Bob to family and friends passed away on Wednesday, August 2, 2023, at his home in Johnston.
A celebration of life will be held on Saturday, August 12th at 2:00pm at the Merle Hay Chapel, 4400 Merle Hay Rd, Des Moines. The family will receive friends from 1:00 pm until service time. Bob was born in San Pedro, California on June 2, 1940, to Charles & Esther (Koukmish) Peace. On August 24, 1991, Bob married Elvira Enriquez in Las Vegas, NV. He retired from the Post Office in California after serving 30 years as a postal carrier. Together they moved to Iowa in 2003 and have made Johnston their home ever since. Bob worked for the Johnston School District for many years as a bus driver. He and Elvira loved to travel with their camper, visiting among many other, Alaska, California, Oklahoma, Canada, Indiana, Mississippi & Texas.
Bob is survived by his wife Elvira, a brother, Charles “Chuck,” nephew Scott Peace, step niece Teri Nelson and step nephew Hal Peace.
