Robert E. Johnson, 85, passed away Sunday, January 2, 2022 at Mercy Hospital. Services will be Monday, January 10, 2022 at 11 a.m. at Merle Hay Funeral Home. Visitation will also be at the funeral home beginning at 9 a.m. and will go until the service.
Robert was born December 20, 1936. He graduated from Lincoln High School in Des Moines. Robert served in the United States Army 42 years where he was based in Camp Dodge. He was a collector of antique John Deere tractors and loved vacationing near the Mississippi River in Guttenberg, Iowa. He even had a collection of plow trucks to clean people's driveways during the winter months.
Robert is survived by his sons Kevin (Kim) and Rob, and daughter, Becky, seven grandchildren, and four great grandchildren. He was preceded by his wife, Shirley M. Johnson.
