In Loving Memory of Ronald Dean Hartman

Ron, a cherished soul beloved by many, departed from this world on May 23rd, 2024, at the age of 74. He passed away peacefully, leaving behind a legacy of love, kindness, and family.
Born in Webster City, Iowa, on September 2nd, 1949, Ron embarked on a journey filled with purpose and passion. He graduated from Adel High School in 1968 before attending SWICC for his Electrical Degree. Ron had various careers in companies such as Spain Electric, Ruan, and other computer related companies. He enlisted in the United States Navy as a Radio Operator, where he served his country with honor and dedication during the Vietnam War for four years. His bravery and sacrifice were a testament to his character. His love and brotherhood of his USS Mobile Navy buddies lasted throughout his entire life.
Throughout his life, Ron touched the hearts of all who knew him. His love of playing or watching golf, skeet shooting, catching some two-wheel therapy on his Harley, and getting snuggles from his side kick cat Pumpkin and Grand dog Hazle were just some of the joys he embraced.
Ron was a dedicated family man, a loving husband to Jane (Hand) Hartman of 47 years where they resided in their Waukee home. He was a devoted father to Amy (Dolmage) Keiderling (Keith Larsen) of Trenton, MO, and Bret Hartman (Stacie McChesney) of Salt Lake City, UT. Together with their families, they formed a strong and loving bond that was the foundation of their happiness.
Ron's departure leaves a void in the lives of many, but his memory will forever remain in the hearts of all who were privileged to know him. He is survived by his beloved wife, Jane; his children, Amy and Bret; grandchildren Anna Keiderling of Austin, TX; Ian Keiderling of Waukee, IA; Katie Larsen (Rodney) of Yorktown, IA; Brooke Pafford (Aleck) of Lenox, IA; great-grandchildren: Tucker, Beau, Baker, Mia, June, Braxton & Archie; his sister, Linda (Hartman) Kennedy (Tom) of Adel, IA; sister-in-law Pat (Hand) Parkins of Adel, IA; three nieces; two nephews; friends; chosen family, and beloved neighbors.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Austin "Ozzie" & Helen (Rehm) Hartman of Adel, Iowa and Dean & Hazle (Smith) Hand of Greenfield, Iowa.
A celebration of life will be held on Friday, August 30th at 10:00 am at the Veteran’s Reception Center in Van Meter, IA. with inurnment at 12:30 pm at the Iowa Veteran's Cemetery in Van Meter, Iowa. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made directly to the family to support a future dedication to Veterans in honor of Ron’s memory and his service.
