Viera Eva Dewald, 74, passed away peacefully on Saturday, June 3, 2023.
Viera was born on January 15, 1949 to Eugen and Maria Mikoczy. She and her husband Peter immigrated from Bratislava, Czechoslovakia to Iowa City, Iowa in December 1968. Viera was the best wife, mother and mimi/grandma. She was a selfless, caring, kind and strong woman who touched the lives of so many. She loved her family dearly and enjoyed cooking, gardening, swimming and taking care of her grandkids Gabby and Luke during the day. Growing up with mimi, every day was filled with love and memories.

The family would like to extend a very special thank you to Samantha and the multiple nurses with MercyOne Johnston Hospice for their care and guidance over the last year. You are an amazing group of caring and kind people.
